If you want to download and install Firefox 90 right now, you can use the download links given in this article. If we go to the changelog section of Firefox 90, it shows that it is still being prepared by Mozilla. We will update this page once the release notes are published and new features are officially announced. While the official Firefox 90 (alfa) system requirements do not list Windows 11 as supported, it runs on Windows 11 without any issues. Mozilla still lists Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 as compatible Operating Systems. Like Chrome, Firefox 90 will also drop the support for built-in FTP client. Users will no longer be able to use Firefox as an FTP client to make way for third-party FTP clients like FileZilla. Firefox 90 will finally sport a new Proton design refresh. Ghacks had already written about it in April this year. Firefox 90 comes with the ability to update the browser even when it is not running. While this can be a great feature, we need to keep an eye on the monitoring process of Firefox and disable it if it is taking a lot of resources. Otherwise, the installer will do a clean install of the browser. While Firefox usage is declining month after month, the browser should be used by people who have privacy and security concerns.
